We discovered that Miniatures are a new phenomenon in the UK but that there is a huge variation in heights according to the size of Poodle in the mixture. We are now in the position to produce different sizes of 'Miniatures'. We are very excited to be the first breeder of 'Petite' Goldendoodles, which have the same characteristics as larger Goldendoodles but in a smaller package! They are likely to average around 14 inches to the shoulder, and we can more or less guarantee that no Standard size puppies will appear in a litter of Petites. Our Miniature puppies tend to average approximately 16 17 inches to the shoulder, around Cocker Spaniel size, although normally a little stockier. We also can breed Medium Miniatures who average around 18 22 inches to the shoulder, so perfect for families wanting a 'dog sized dog' but not a pony! All these different types of Miniatures result in a perfect family sized companion coupled with the gorgeous teddy bear looks that the Goldendoodle is renowned for, and wonderful, gentle, friendly temperaments which are second to none. It is important to be aware that we cannot guarantee size as puppies could reach the size of either parent or potentially taller. PLEASE BE AWARE that in an F1 mating, becauise one parent is a Golden Retriever then puppies can easily reach the size of a Golden Retriever when mature, although they are not normally as heavy. This is despite the sire being a Miniature Poodle. This will apply to any puppy from any F1 mating with a Miniature Poodle regardless of the size of Miniature Poodle and regardless of the breeder. I have had so many people contact me to tell me that their puppy has grown to be much larger than expected and their breeder told them they would be Cocker Spaniel size!In an F1 mating this is very, very unlikely as a Miniature Poodle is around Cocker Spaniel size itself and the resulting puppies from a mating between a Cocker Spaniel sized dog and a Golden Retriever isn't likely to result in Cocker Spaniel size progeny! You are likely to get puppies that mature to around 18 22 inches to the shoulder on average but this cannot be guaranteed. If you would like a dog who will most likely mature to around Cocker Spaniel size then BOTH parents need to be Cocker Spaniel size. Laziness or lack of owner irresponsibility, there really is no excuse NOT to vaccinate your Goldendoodle or young puppies when it is readily available in most pet stores, feed stores as well as many canine supply sites all across the internet.
